Notice at collection
Edge Electronics, Inc. collects the following categories of personal information through this website and its forms:
- Contact and professional information: your name, email address, phone number, organization, title, and location details, to respond to you and manage the resulting business relationship.
- Inquiry and commercial information: the products, quantities, timing, application details, messages, and attachments you provide, to prepare quotes, answer questions, coordinate with manufacturers and other providers, and support your request.
- Employment information: the work history and other information you choose to provide through the careers form, to consider you for roles and contact you about them. Careers introductions are not added to marketing lists.
- Online identifiers and internet activity: IP addresses, browser and device information, referring pages, cookie identifiers, and security or interaction data, to operate and protect the site and forms. If you accept the relevant optional category, these data are also used for visit analytics and business-interest data or advertising.
HubSpot processes form submissions for Edge, and Google reCAPTCHA helps prevent spam. These form services load independently of optional tracking choices and may set cookies. We also disclose information to the Edge personnel, service providers, and transaction participants needed to handle your request. See HubSpot forms and Google reCAPTCHA and How we disclose information for details.
We keep contact, professional, inquiry, commercial, and employment information for as long as needed for its collection purpose and any resulting relationship, recordkeeping, legal or contractual requirement, dispute, warranty, support, or security need. Online identifiers and activity are retained for the operational, security, or accepted measurement purposes they serve and applicable legal requirements; the privacy-choice cookie expires after six months. We delete or deidentify information when those needs end, unless a continuing obligation requires retention. See Retention for the criteria we use.
We do not sell personal information for money or use form submissions for cross-context behavioral advertising. Under broader legal definitions, accepting “Visit analytics and business-interest data” makes identifiers and internet activity available to HubSpot for its business-intent features and commercial dataset. Accepting “Advertising” shares online identifiers and internet activity with Google and LinkedIn for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can decline or withdraw either choice using Do not sell or share my personal information / Your Privacy Choices. We honor Global Privacy Control as described under Cookies, analytics, and your privacy choices.
Sending an inquiry does not subscribe you to marketing emails. Any marketing choice is separate and optional. Please leave sensitive or confidential information out of these forms. The rest of this Privacy Policy explains our practices and your privacy rights in more detail.
Scope
This Privacy Policy describes how Edge Electronics, Inc. (“Edge,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit edgeelectronics.com (the “Site”), submit a form, ask for a quote, or contact us, and in the ordinary business relationships that follow: inquiries, quotations, orders, shipping, support, returns, warranties, business contacts, and job applications.
This policy does not govern a third-party website or service linked from the Site, or a separate relationship governed by another privacy notice or a written agreement.
Information we collect
Information you provide
Depending on how you contact us or do business with us, we may collect:
- Name and business contact information, including email address and phone number.
- Organization, title, country, city, and other business-profile information.
- Part numbers, quantities, timing, product interests, and quote or support details.
- Messages, correspondence, attachments, and other information you choose to submit.
- Order, shipping, billing, return, and warranty information provided outside the public Site.
- If you introduce yourself for a role, the work history and contact details you choose to share.
Do not submit classified information, Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), export-controlled technical data, payment-card information, Social Security numbers, health information, passwords, or other sensitive data through a general Site form. Contact Edge to discuss an appropriate transfer method when a request requires regulated or highly sensitive material.
Information collected automatically
When you access the Site or an embedded form, Edge and its service providers may automatically receive technical and usage information: an IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages or forms viewed, dates and times, approximate location derived from an IP address, cookie or similar identifiers, and security or interaction data. Google Analytics, HubSpot, Google Ads and LinkedIn collect optional tracking data only after the relevant choice is accepted, as described under Cookies, analytics, and your privacy choices.
Information from business sources
We may receive business contact or account information from your employer, colleagues, manufacturers, sales representatives, service providers, public sources, or others involved in a request or transaction. We may combine that information with information already maintained by Edge when appropriate to serve the business relationship and keep our records current.
How we use information
We may use personal information to:
- Respond to quote requests, product questions, support needs, and other inquiries.
- Create or update business contact and account records.
- Prepare quotations and administer orders, shipping, returns, and warranties.
- Coordinate with manufacturers, representatives, suppliers, carriers, and service providers.
- Send transactional messages and relevant business communications.
- Consider you for a role when you introduce yourself through the careers page.
- Maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Site and our operations.
- When you accept advertising, show you relevant Edge ads on other sites and measure their results.
- Detect spam, fraud, misuse, security incidents, and other harmful activity.
- Comply with law, enforce agreements, establish or defend claims, and maintain required records.
- Support a corporate transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information to take steps at your request, perform a contract, comply with legal obligations, pursue legitimate business interests that are not overridden by your rights, or with consent.
Marketing choices
Submitting a quote, contact, support, or careers form does not add you to a marketing list. Where a form offers occasional product and company updates, the choice is a separate box that is unchecked until you check it. Marketing email from Edge identifies Edge, includes our postal address, and carries a working unsubscribe link; you can also opt out by contacting us. Careers introductions are never added to marketing lists. Service and transaction messages may continue when necessary for an active request or relationship.
HubSpot forms and Google reCAPTCHA
The Site uses embedded HubSpot forms to collect and route inquiries. When you submit a form, the information you provide and associated technical data are transmitted to HubSpot and stored in Edge's customer-relationship management system, where HubSpot processes it as a service provider on our behalf. A page that carries a form loads HubSpot's form script and Google's invisible reCAPTCHA whatever you choose in the consent panel, because they are needed to submit an inquiry and to distinguish people from automated submissions, and they may set their own cookies or similar technologies. reCAPTCHA may collect technical and interaction data and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service; HubSpot's handling is described in the HubSpot Privacy Policy.
Cookies, analytics, and your privacy choices
Cookies, local storage, and similar technologies may be used to make a service function, maintain security, remember choices, measure use, or connect a form submission with a business contact record. Google Analytics and the HubSpot tracking code load only after you accept the “Visit analytics and business-interest data” category in the consent panel; until then neither runs. If you accept, Google Analytics measures how pages are used, and HubSpot may receive your IP address, online identifiers, and website activity and use them as an independent controller for its business-intent features and its commercial dataset, as described in the HubSpot Privacy Policy. Google Analytics is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
The separate “Advertising” choice controls Google Ads and the LinkedIn Insight Tag. If you accept, these services may receive online identifiers, IP address, page and referral information, timestamps, and browser or device information to build website-visitor audiences, show relevant Edge ads on other sites, and measure advertising results. They may associate visits with information held by their services. See How Google uses information from sites that use its services and the LinkedIn Privacy Policy. Advertising is optional and is separate from both analytics and the marketing-email checkbox on an inquiry form.
Your choice is stored in a first-party cookie named edge-consent for up to six months so we can honor it on later visits; it records the choice and the date, not who you are. The Site treats a browser's Global Privacy Control signal as a rejection of advertising, and advertising stays off while that signal is active. Visit analytics and business-interest data also stay off unless you explicitly turn that category on. An earlier analytics-only choice does not authorize advertising; the panel asks for a new choice. You can change your choice at any time from Your Privacy Choices in the footer of every page. Browser settings can also block or remove cookies, though blocking what an embedded form needs may prevent it from loading or submitting.
The Site does not respond to browser “Do Not Track” (DNT) signals. DNT is different from Global Privacy Control, which we honor as described in this section.
Project notes in your browser
Project notes lets you keep product selections, quantities, written notes, and planner answers together for an inquiry. We use this site's browser local storage for saved drafts and preferences, and session storage for the current draft and planner or comparison state in a tab. These drafts are specific to this browser and are not an account that syncs across devices.
Before you enable automatic notes, your current search or filters can appear as a preview marked “Not saved yet.” That preview is not saved as a draft or included in an inquiry or download. Choosing “Keep notes as I browse,” or enabling “Automatic project notes” in Your Privacy Choices, saves the current preview and enables saving later searches and filters. We keep the latest search and current filter selections for each category, rather than a chronological browsing history. This setting is separate from analytics and advertising; accepting tracking does not enable it.
Pause or turn off automatic notes to stop new automatic additions. “Reject nonessential” also turns it off. Existing drafts remain available, and you can still save products, write notes, and complete planners. Resuming starts with the current page, without adding activity from the paused period.
Saved drafts and the automatic-notes choice have no automatic expiry. They remain until you clear them or your browser removes site data. “Start new notes” keeps earlier drafts; “Clear all saved notes” deletes saved products, notes, plans, comparisons, and earlier drafts from this browser and turns automatic notes off. We retain an empty reset record so another open tab cannot restore an older draft. Browser settings can also remove this site's data. Other people using the same browser profile may be able to see saved notes.
Opening the inquiry step loads HubSpot's form and populates it with your saved project details; HubSpot and reCAPTCHA operate as described under HubSpot forms and Google reCAPTCHA. Submitting sends the inquiry to Edge through HubSpot. Sending does not clear the browser draft, and clearing browser notes does not delete inquiries already submitted to us. Those inquiries follow the retention and privacy-request provisions below. Browser-only draft storage does not change the separate analytics, advertising, hosting, or form-service practices described in this policy.
How we disclose information
We may disclose personal information to:
- Edge personnel and representatives who need it for the purposes described above.
- Hosting, CRM, form, analytics, email, security, IT, document, and other service providers working for Edge.
- Google and LinkedIn for advertising when you accept the Advertising choice, as described above.
- Manufacturers, suppliers, representatives, carriers, and other parties needed to respond to or fulfill a request.
- Professional advisers, auditors, insurers, and financial institutions as appropriate.
- Government authorities or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and security.
- A buyer, investor, lender, or successor in connection with a proposed or completed corporate transaction.
Sale or sharing of personal information
Edge does not sell personal information for money. Some privacy laws define “sale” and “sharing” more broadly than ordinary usage. Under those broader definitions, when you accept the “Visit analytics and business-interest data” category, identifiers and internet or network activity are made available to HubSpot, which may use them for its own business-intent features and its commercial dataset. When you accept “Advertising,” online identifiers and internet activity are also made available to Google and LinkedIn for cross-context behavioral advertising. This is sharing under applicable privacy laws. You can decline or withdraw either category at any time from Your Privacy Choices. The Site does not use form submissions for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
Retention
We keep personal information for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for, and then for as long as an active relationship, a warranty or support obligation, a legal or contractual requirement, a dispute, or a security need requires. The criteria differ by record type: inquiry records are kept while the inquiry or relationship is open and for a period after it closes; quotation, order, shipping, billing, and support records are kept as business, warranty, and tax requirements demand; analytics data is kept only as long as the measurement needs it; the edge-consent cookie expires after six months. When a period ends we delete or deidentify the information unless a legal hold, dispute, contract, warranty, or legal requirement justifies keeping it. We may retain deidentified or aggregated information that no longer identifies an individual.
Security
Edge uses administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information in light of its nature and the risks involved. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe information sent to Edge may have been compromised, contact us promptly.
Your rights and how to make a request
Depending on where you live and subject to legal exceptions, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you and to request access to it, a copy of it, correction of it, or deletion of it; to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; to limit certain uses of sensitive personal information where that applies; to withdraw consent for future processing; to appeal a denied request; and to receive equal treatment whether or not you exercise these rights.
To make a request, email edge@edgeelectronics.com, use our contact page, or call us toll-free at 800.647.3343 and ask for Privacy. Describe the request and the relationship or interaction that will help us locate the information.
For requests to know, access, correct, or delete personal information, we verify your identity by matching what you tell us to information we already hold, and we may ask for more detail when the request concerns sensitive records. An authorized agent may make a request for you. We may require proof that you authorized the agent and, for requests to know, access, correct, or delete personal information, may also verify your identity directly.
We acknowledge requests to know, access, correct, or delete personal information within 10 business days and respond within 45 calendar days after receipt. If more time is reasonably necessary and permitted by law, we notify you within the initial 45-day period, explain why, and may take up to an additional 45 calendar days.
We honor requests to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and applicable requests to limit the use or disclosure of sensitive personal information, as soon as feasibly possible and no later than 15 business days after receipt. These requests do not require verification of your identity.
If we decline a request, we explain the reason and you may appeal by replying to that decision; a different person reviews the appeal. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
Your privacy choices
To change “Visit analytics and business-interest data” or “Advertising” for this browser, use Your Privacy Choices in the footer of every page. Withdrawing acceptance reloads the page to stop the affected tools and removes their cookies on this domain that we can reach. Save unfinished form entries before changing an existing choice. Withdrawal does not undo information already sent or remove cookies on another company's domain. A Global Privacy Control signal keeps advertising off and initially rejects visit analytics and business-interest data as described above.
California privacy disclosures
This section applies to California residents and adds to the rest of this policy. The table lists the categories of personal information we have collected in the preceding 12 months, where it comes from, why we use it, and to whom it is disclosed for a business purpose. Each row applies only to the extent the interaction actually occurs; we do not collect a category merely because it is listed.
| Category | Examples we collect | Sources | Purposes and disclosures |
|---|---|---|---|
| Identifiers | Name, business email address, telephone number, postal address, IP address, cookie or device identifiers | You; your employer or colleagues; your browser; service providers | Respond to requests, keep records, security, measurement. Disclosed for a business purpose to CRM, hosting, form, security, analytics, email, shipping, and other operational providers. Online identifiers are also shared with Google and LinkedIn for advertising when you accept Advertising. |
| Customer records | Contact, account, order, shipping, and billing information | You; your employer; transaction participants | Quotes, orders, shipping, support, returns, recordkeeping. Disclosed to the personnel, manufacturers, representatives, carriers, and providers needed for the transaction. |

Disclosed to Edge personnel and the providers and transaction participants needed to act on them. |
We ask you not to submit sensitive personal information through the Site and we do not knowingly collect it there. Where a separate workflow, such as employment, involves sensitive information, a separate notice at collection applies. We use and disclose sensitive personal information only for the purposes permitted by California law.
In the preceding 12 months we disclosed each category above to service providers and transaction participants for a business purpose, as described in the table. Under California's broad definitions, identifiers and internet or network activity are made available to HubSpot, a CRM, analytics, enrichment, and intent-data provider, when you accept the “Visit analytics and business-interest data” category; HubSpot may use them for its business-intent features and its commercial dataset. We do not sell personal information for money. When Advertising is accepted, online identifiers and internet activity are also shared with Google and LinkedIn for cross-context behavioral advertising. To opt out, use Your Privacy Choices in the footer, or make a request by the methods above; a browser's Global Privacy Control signal is honored as an opt-out for that browser.
California residents may request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the categories of sources, our purposes, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclose it; may request deletion or correction; may opt out of sale or sharing; may limit the use of sensitive personal information where that applies; and will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. The designated request methods are edge@edgeelectronics.com, the contact page, and the toll-free number 800.647.3343.
Children's privacy
The Site is intended for business users and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information through the Site from children under 16. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.
International visitors
Edge is based in the United States. Personal information may be processed in the United States and in other locations where our service providers operate. Those locations may have data-protection rules different from the rules where you live. Where required, Edge and its service providers use measures intended to support lawful transfers.
Third-party links
The Site links to manufacturer, partner, and other third-party websites and documents. Their privacy practices are governed by their own notices. Review those notices before providing personal information to a third party.
Changes to this policy
We review this policy at least once every 12 months and update it as our Site, services, or legal obligations change. The dates at the top identify the current version. If a change is material, we may provide additional notice when appropriate.
